Letters of Inquiry

Letters of Inquiry will be accepted September 1, 2018 - September 28, 2018 for the current grant cycle.

STEP ONE:

Please carefully review the Grant Eligibility Guidelines.  If the SOS interest areas and funding preferences are compatible with the needs of your nonprofit organization, you are invited to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI).  Please note: Letters of Inquiry from organizations with operating budgets over $1.5 million will not be considered.

STEP TWO:

To submit a Letter of Inquiry for the first time, you must Register Your Organization. Once approved (within a week) you will receive an email with a username and password which will enable you to login your organization and upload your Letter of Inquiry.  If your organization has registered in the past, you only need to login, however, please UPDATE your Organizational Details information by selecting "Modify Account" to reflect new project information

STEP THREE:

Download the SOS Letter of Inquiry Cover Sheet

Download the Budget Templates.

Fill out the SOS Letter of Inquiry Cover Sheet and submit the following attachments:

1.     Organizational and project summary.

2.     IRS Letter of Determination.

3.     Project budget (use the budget template provided)

4.     Organization’s current budget.

PLEASE INCLUDE ALL FOUR ATTACHMENTS WITH YOUR LOI COVER SHEET. Once the LOI Cover Sheet and attachments are ready to submit, login to the SOS website, select "Modify Account" and update any changes in your “Organizational Details.” Then select "Upload Your LOI" (Letter of Inquiry) button and upload your documents. You can upload each file individually or as one large PDF. If you need help uploading your documents, contact soswomensfund.help@gmail.com.

NEXT STEPS:

SOS accepts Full Grant Applications BY INVITATION ONLY. After evaluating your organization’s Letter of Inquiry, your organization will be notified if SOS would like you to submit a full proposal.  Grants are awarded based on a vote of the SOS membership after prospective grant recipients have successfully completed each step of the SOS grant process.
